About Us

The Copper Bucket began at a kitchen table, with a growing pile of broken things. A spatula that melted. A “wooden” spoon that wasn’t really wood. A bag of supermarket flour that tasted of nothing. None of it was made to last, and none of it was made anywhere we could point to on a map.

So we set ourselves a quiet rule: only sell things we’d be glad to use every day and hand on afterwards. That meant fewer products, chosen slowly — real materials like beech, olive wood, glass, linen and stone-milled grain, and makers close enough to visit.

Made nearby, on purpose

We’re based in rural Cheshire, and we lean on what’s around us. A few miles from our door, a working watermill still grinds grain between stones the way it has for generations. The flour that comes off it is alive in a way the bagged stuff isn’t — and it’s the backbone of our baking range.

Small batches, by design

We make and stock in modest numbers. Sometimes that means a piece sells out and you wait a little while for the next run. We think that’s a fair trade for things made with care rather than haste — and it keeps waste down, which matters to us.

A bucket worth filling

A copper bucket is a humble, hard-wearing thing — the sort of object that gets better with age and outlives its owner. That’s the spirit we’re after: useful, unfussy, and built to be filled again and again.
